From Gaeta to Portici, adoption wins

In 2021 the “Protocol for the right to education of adopted students” was signed in Gaeta thanks to the
collaboration of the Municipality of Gaeta, the International Adoption Center and the local educational institutions,
including the P. Amedeo Institute, directed in that year by Prof. Pierangela Ronzani.
On that occasion, like every year, schools were invited to also participate in all the activities that help
to raise awareness and grow the culture of adoption, including the competition promoted by the association
Italiaadozioni “Adoption at school”.
Well, thanks to the ongoing relationship with the International Adoption Center of the Municipality of Gaeta, the DS
Ronzani continued the work started in Gaeta in the Portici school. Already in November the institute from her
direct was included in the ‘Gaeta city of children’ project through a cultural twinning.
Today the ‘Don Bosco – Melloni’ Institute of Portici is the winner of the national competition “adoption among the schools of
school”, earning first place among all the schools in Italy by participating with a video, created by
some teachers and students in which they talk about the prejudices, the fatigue but also the joy of a family that
adopt a child.
This is a goal of the Portici school which is shared with the Municipality of Gaeta and the Center for
International Adoptions that have been working for many years in the area to ensure that the topic of adoption comes to light
increasingly addressed and discussed in the school and social community.
The Director Ronzani and her entire teaching staff received compliments from the mayor of the city of
Gaeta Cristian Leccese, congratulations from the deputy mayor with responsibility for education, Gianna Conte as well
