The year was 2018. Aldo Mucci, responsible for the former LSU ATA workers in Sicily, decided to report the conditions of workers used as cleaners in schools in our country to the ANAC Anti-Corruption, through the so-called “Black Book”. The denunciation was followed by a gigantic scandal. L’Espresso wrote: “Corruption in judicial documents”: “the Council of State is trembling” and again, Il Fatto Quotidiano: “corruption and auction rigging”, are the crimes for which proceedings are being carried out in the Consip investigation into largest contract in Europe. The acronym CONSIP “purchasing center” of the public administration is all over the media. The framework within which the darkness in which the workers find themselves emerges forces consciences to forcefully emerge, stopping this scandal. The union does not limit itself to writing to Cantone, but also disturbs politics, which calls for an end to the exploitation to which workers are subjected daily in contracting companies.

I wanted to recount this episode, which now belongs to the past, to say that we must have the courage to report – declares Mucci – You cannot read sentences like those read in the online newspaper “Sicilia24h” where Mr. Giuseppe Di Rosa of Codacons describes Agrigento as colluding with freemasonry and mafia. The courage of those who write them is welcome, but we must also have the courage to mention names and surnames. You can’t shoot into the mix and tarnish an entire city and even, in a not too veiled way, the highest institutions. SGS will write to the HE the Prefect Filippo Romano and to the Police Commissioner to inform them, as well as to the Head of the Prosecutor’s Office of Agrigento, even if we are certain that they are already aware of these episodes. Certain very serious sentences cannot pass in absolute silence, it is a moral and civil duty towards the City of Agrigento.

As a union, we will also write a note to Codacons to better understand how some situations are that concern personally and the work activity of its representative in Agrigento Giuseppe Di Rosa – concludes Aldo Mucci.
