Great success at the event organized by Azione Massa Carrara and the Liberal Socialists Association and moderated by Emanuele Bianchi, head of Action’s provincial ecological transition entitled “Nuclear: European horizons”, in which the speakers Luca Romano and Fulvio Buzzi explained to everyone those present of the need for a nuclear – renewable energy mix for the future of Italy and Europe. Speaking on the occasion were Angelo Zubbani, former mayor of Carrara and president of the Liberal Socialists Association, Carrara’s urban planning councilor Moreno Lorenzini, the candidates for the European elections for the Action list Barbara Masini and Alessio D’Amato and the coordinator Provincial Action Under 30 Samuele Boni. They all highlighted the need to place energy independence at the center of Europe’s next challenges, both in socio-economic and ecological terms. The coming years will see an increase in energy demand due to the need to reduce the environmental impact of fossil fuels. “We are very happy with the success of the event – declared the secretary Riccardo Pelliccia – because we believe a lot in the nuclear – renewable theme. Many people and many questions demonstrate that the topic is current and deeply felt. We wanted to introduce this topic because we are convinced that the progressive reduction in the use of fossil fuels must be supported by a mix of renewable sources and among these, nuclear power would provide the opportunity to achieve this.”
