For Sanremo, the long weekend of April 25th, despite the weather not being particularly favourable, was overall positive for tourism, both for hotels and for food & beverage traders and businesses.
On Friday and Saturday evenings it was difficult to find a table for lunch or dinner and the view of the city was particularly captivating with the center under attack. The only flaw was the weather, given that the tourists who filled the city were unable to go to the seaside, which usually happens on weekends at the end of April, with temperatures decidedly higher than those experienced in recent days.
But, while yesterday the counter-exodus created quite a few problems on the A10, with queues in particular at the state border and in the Savona area, we are already thinking about the next long weekend on May 1st. In recent days the tourist operators of the city of flowers had shown low bookings while now good news is arriving from the specialized portal ‘Holidu’ which, for the next long weekend, sees Sanremo in 8th place in the world among the favorite destinations of Italians.
Sanremo is behind Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Naples, Palermo, Florence and Rimini but even ahead of cities such as New York and Palma de Mallorca. A certificate of esteem for the city of flowers, which therefore confirms its appeal to tourists. Who knows, in the last hours before May 1st, bookings might improve. For now, Sanremo is ‘pampering’ the poker tournament at the Casino, which is guaranteeing important attendances in the accommodation facilities.
