The outgoing mayor of Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata will not run for the second mandate and will not be a councilor candidate, promising however loyalty and support of the team that will support the former vice mayor and now councilor of his council, a member of the Democratic Party with a history of thirty years in politics.
«Honestly, for me», states Romandini, «they were days of great reflection together with my entire group, above all for the support and esteem that many fellow citizens recognize in us and which today lead me to make a choice torn between the desire to give still so much to my community and the commitment to keep faith with the word given during the 2019 electoral campaign”, states Romandini, “in which I said that I would only be a ferryman for Sant’Egidio, that I would undertake to give back to the citizens trust in an administration that is always present, responsible towards the territory, close to the problems of less fortunate people and above all open to listening to everyone. Consistency and the word given to the voters must be respected as I believe that only in this way can citizens’ trust in the institutions be recovered. These values lead me today to renounce my candidacy as mayor for the next term for which I will support, as promised, the candidate for mayor who will be chosen by the current majority group. In the next few hours, as already agreed, the six councilors will meet to choose the mayoral candidate for the next local elections. My commitment to supporting his candidacy remains firm”, concludes the outgoing mayor.
It goes without saying that that councilor is Medori, who will challenge the outgoing centre-right councillors Alessandro Forlini And Nunzio Amatucci. Luigino Medori, heard yesterday, reported that he will form a transversal civic list like the one that led Romandini to victory five years ago and that the promoters will soon draw up a press release to explain the reasons for their union, which will see Romandini invested in an external role .
