PESCARA. The mayoral candidate of the civic coalition, Domenico Pettinarireturned yesterday morning to via Caduti per Servizio, to denounce “the deteriorating situation in Fontanelle”.
«We find ourselves faced with a neighborhood in a total state of abandonment», Pettinari denounces, «where honest citizens are tired and disheartened of finding themselves faced with the wall of indifference of the political classes who have taken turns in governing the city and who have been through it here. maybe just sometimes by mistake. Drug dealers, decay, rubbish everywhere, illegally occupied public housing and even arson attacks. Alongside the evidence that is there for all to see”, continues the mayoral candidate, “it is difficult for those who live in this area to even be able to use the most common services, which are totally absent. In many years”, he continues, “the reports of all these problems have always been aimed at reaching a solution, which has never been found and today, finally, we have the possibility, in the event of victory in the elections, to carry out concrete actions”.
Numerous proposals announced by the candidate of the civic coalition, for the transformation of the city’s difficult neighborhoods, starting with Fontanelle.
«We want happy suburbs, able to integrate into a dignified and livable social fabric», explains Pettinari, «we plan to do new things, such as bringing traveling cultural and recreational events here, as well as in all the other neighborhoods. No longer just the city center, but also the suburbs must be an integral part of a unique city capable of offering its inhabitants a decent quality of life. I remember that a few years ago, in the role of vice president of the regional council”, continues Pettinari, “thanks to the collaboration of the honest citizens residing in this neighborhood, we managed to draw a map of the drug dealing which allowed the police to find numerous hiding places of drug dealers in the area of via Caduti per Servizio. Respectable citizens are often afraid to leave their homes, but also to report them, while it is their right to live freely and peacefully.”
The mayoral candidate speaks of unresolved problems and accuses: «Despite the requests to the relevant institutions, initiatives such as legality walks and more, nothing or little has changed, and there are still numerous problems related to safety and public order».
And he lists the emergencies in the neighborhood: «Illegal occupants of public housing, rubbish everywhere on the streets, decay, drug dealing, non-existent urban decorum. Our program”, he concludes, “envisages the establishment of the safe streets operation, the implementation of the video surveillance system with the reading of license plates and the eviction of squatters from occupied public housing, to return them to those on the list waiting for years. We look above all to young people, and we also ask to implement sports facilities in the neighborhoods, also bringing services that currently do not exist.”
