Bologna, 29 April 2024 – Still chaos and beatings in a Aldrovandi square full to capacity, even in the early afternoon of Saturday: two young people violently fighting, blood and broken bottles around them. And a crowd that doesn’t even let those who want to go back to their homes pass through. It tells of yet another day of passion Claudia, resident in vicolo Bianchetti who, on Saturday shortly after 1pm, was returning home after picking up her son from school.

“I found myself faced with a wall of peoplethere must have been at least 5-600, mainly in Piazza Aldrovandi but also in the part intended for the passage of cars and right here we got stuck because there were two boys, around 20-25 years old who they fought very violently: one was shirtless and was full of blood. It was full of broken bottles all around. We couldn’t get through, we were stopped there, they looked at us very badly and, to be honest, we were scared, my son and I. Little by little we managed to move forward and pulled a sigh of relief. I don’t hide that I’m thinning out my outings, I don’t feel at all at ease either for myself or for my boys who are 16 and 19 years old: this situation is also limiting our freedom. We’ve been doing it for years meetings with the mayor and prefect but nothing changes.”

For the resident “it’s time that theUniversity takes its responsibilities, given that many problems are caused by the incorrect behavior of many students: this cannot pass as the city where you do what you want. We need codes of conduct as happens in many other cities in the world that host large universities.”

Precisely to underline the seriousness of the situation caused (also) by the graduation parties out of control from the concerts of Scaravilli square, this morning a meeting will be held between the representatives of the committees, the mayor Matteo Lepore and the rector of Unibo, Giovanni Molari. He announces it Giuseppe Sisti of the Petroni and surroundings association: “We have an appointment with the mayor and the rector for the issue of the graduation parties but also the concerts in Piazza Scaravilli which is owned by the University. Then in any case there would be a need for checks by the police, but in plain clothes There was a Saturday night group of drug dealers in via Petroni, they suddenly disappeared. I wondered what had happened: shortly afterwards a police car passed. It is clear that they have relays placed at key points, which they warn when they see law enforcement vehicles arriving. This is why I say it would be better if they checked in plain clothes.”
