Trento beats Renate 1-0 and qualifies for the playoffs: there is a big celebration in the stands of Briamasco
In the thirty-eighth matchday of Serie C Now, Trento wins 1-0 against Renate. The penalty converted by Emanuele Anastasia decides. The doors to the playoffs therefore open for the yellow-blues. The date of the match against Atalanta Under 23 will be set in the next few hours by the Lega Pro.
On the thirty-eighth matchday of Serie C Now, Trento beats Renate 1-0 and thus wins the first playoffs in the Club’s history. After having achieved safety and the record number of points, the yellow-blues enter, as tenth of the group, the reserved post-season to the best teams in Serie C. For the Via Sanseverino club this is a historic result that continues the growth path undertaken in recent seasons.
News. Mister Francesco Baldini confirms the 4-3-1-2 with Russo protecting the posts and the defensive quartet made up of Ferri, Trainotti, Barison and Obaretin. Rada, Sangalli and Puletto act in the middle of the field, while, behind the two strikers Italeng and Spalluto, Pasquato moves as an attacking midfielder. In the first half, Trento takes control of the game, managing to become dangerous on more than one occasion. The first real opportunity materializes on the half hour mark with Italeng who stops the ball perfectly and shoots from distance, with the ball finishing high over the crossbar.
A few moments later, the yellow-blues again came close to scoring the lead with Obaretin from the center of the penalty area but, once again, the shot was not precise. It is Trento who plays the game, reaching the conclusion first with Spalluto and then with Pasquato. In the 41st minute Baldini’s men kick again with Pasquato, from the center of the penalty area with the ball ending high over the crossbar. The first half of the game therefore ended at 0-0, but Trento was unable to equalize and began attacking vehemently again at the start of the second half. The first is Rada, whose conclusion ends up high.
On the hour mark it was instead Ferri who shot from the edge of the area with the ball going out to Ombra’s right. Minutes pass but it is always the yellow-blues, also thanks to an incessant push from the Briamasco stadium, who make themselves dangerous. In the 74th minute, Frosinini tries but the visiting goalkeeper blocks with a great save. The opening goal came in the 81st minute thanks to Anastasia’s perfect eleven-metre conversion which scored the penalty earned by Italeng.
The last minutes are of absolute celebration with Baldini’s team celebrating a historic achievement, qualifying for the playoff phase. The Eagles finish the regular season in tenth place in the standings with fifty-one points. The next match, valid for the first round of the Serie C playoffs, will be away at the Stadio Comunale di Caravaggio against Atalanta Under 23. The date and time will be defined in the next few hours by Lega Pro.

“I want to congratulate these guys for having reached a historic milestone for the Trento square. I am happy for the Club, for the President and for the fans who, on a day like today, came in large numbers to ‘Briamasco’, not letting us lack their support. This evening we celebrate but from tomorrow we will start working again to better prepare for the next match. I am convinced that this group, with the right concentration and energy, can compete against all their opponents and not just for one round of the playoff phase. From a commitment point of view, I am really satisfied with what I saw on the pitch. Today we tried in every way to score and there was certainly no shortage of opportunities. My initial choices were influenced by the numerous warnings and it was difficult to give up Anastasia and Frosinini from the first minute. I knew that today it wouldn’t be easy and that’s why, before taking to the pitch, I asked the boys to be patient and try until the end. Matches like these can break the deadlock in the final minutes and that’s what happened. On the penalty I had no doubt that Emanuele would score and in the end the result rewarded us. I’m really happy to be able to continue working with this team in the coming days.”

I’m really happy for the goal especially because it allowed us to achieve an objective we cared about so much.
