Sant’Agata di Militello – A penalty from Mincica in the 32nd minute of the second half condemns Ragusa to a narrow defeat at “Fresina” at the hands of Città di Sant’Agata.
A defeat that cuts off Giovanni Ignoffo’s boys, who are now forced to field a fallback line-up due to suspensions and injuries, from the playoff fight.
The Messina team, in fact, with today’s three points, overtakes Ragusa in the standings and will no longer be able to be recovered because the “blue eagles” will observe the rest period in the last round of the regular season scheduled for next Sunday.
After ending the first half of the game goalless, the score broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute of the second half of the game, when the referee awarded a penalty kick to the home team.
Mincica’s kick from the spot is a winner and gives his team the lead.
Ragusa tries to react, but is unable to find an outlet forward and the result will not change again until the final whistle.
Ragusa, therefore, says goodbye to their play-off dreams, but the Azzurri’s season is still positive. Now a bit of well-deserved relaxation and then we will begin to lay the foundations for next season which will see president Giacomo Puma’s team still at the starting line of the Fourth Series championship.
