If at the Garilli the match continues without any particular upheavals (except for an incredible missed opportunity by D’Agostino who had the ball blocked by a defender with an empty net) the emotions arrive from Caldiero, where the leaders find unexpected and surprising obstacles in Virtus Ciserano , but manages to maintain the lead in the last second of the match. A real mockery for Piacenza who, practically, were in Serie C for 70 minutes out of 90 minutes but who, with 90 minutes left in the championship, only have to hope for the misfortunes of others to realize their dream of promotion.
It’s really a shame that, with incredible cynicism, Piacenza’s third goal coincided with Caldiero’s equally third goal, thus extinguishing any enthusiasm that the brilliant victory and future prospects had sparked among the red and white fans.
The match against Real Calepina was pleasant, played at a good pace and at reasonable technical levels. Rossini recovers Corradi and keeps the flu-flu Recino on the bench. The initial advantage removes the fears and tensions that can hide the importance of what is at stake. So the red and whites play rather loosely: the guests, as time passes, gain courage and bring some threat to the goal defended by Moro; however, when the threats can become dangerous, Piacenza forces the tempo and secures the result. Every match has its own story but if we had played like this against Clivense too, the ranking would be different today.
The last 90′ will see Piacenza playing in Varese against Varesina and Caldiero at Villa Valle. Impossible to make predictions. Our tragedy is that winning might be of no use; yet we have to believe it because this championship has always been a collection of surprises and luck, which has usually always been our enemy at the end of championships, could pay the debt towards us.
