SENIGALLIA – A super Cosma Vela wins game 1 of the playoff semifinal, beating Aquatica Torino 17-12. Concentrated and determined, careful in defense as well as on the counterattack, ready to exploit its best weapons and defenders like Altamura and Monterubbianesi, four goals each: this is how Cosma presents itself for the first playoff exam and passes it with flying colours, reaching +8 in a couple of circumstances before closing with a five-point lead over the tough Turin team. Cosma starts off strong straight away, two halves with their foot pressed on the accelerator, Altamura and Bartocci score immediately, Cavallini shortens, Olivieri scores, Telypko responds, then Altamura again on a penalty for the 4-2 of the first interval. Lots of sailing also in the second half where Aquatica scored immediately with D’Amico, then the Doric break signed by Quattrini, Altamura, Bartocci, Consolani and Altamura again on a penalty, for the 9-3 (+6), before the goal by Brusco in superiority which closes the second half at 9-4.
Cosma remains focused and continues its run in the third half with three goals from Monterubbianesi, the third in numerical superiority (12-4), Torino responds with Brusco, then Bersacchia scores in superiority, finally Brusco’s goal again, for the 13th -6 at the last interval. In the last half coach Pace gives space to all the girls available and Torino recovers: Telypko scores in superiority, Kiss and Monterubbianesi respond for the Dorics, then Telypko again and Capello in superiority and then Mini on a penalty (15-10), the Cosma responds with Bartocci on a penalty, from there D’amico responds, then Kiss scores and, finally, Telypko again with the result acquired for the Dorics. Race 2 scheduled in Turin next Sunday.
