Not just football. For sport in Cesena, what is about to end is a season that has brought – and is still bringing – a lot of satisfaction to the teams in the area.
In alphabetical order, we start from the letter A. A as that of the category just conquered by the Romagna Rfc designer rugby, which after just a year in purgatory, has gone on to regain the category it deserves. The Galletti were the protagonists of a season worthy of applause, undisputed leaders at least two heads above all the others.
Staying on the letter A, we need to talk about the feat achieved by Futsal, very skilled in securing salvation in the difficult A2 Elite championship, at the end of a season made up of ups and downs, difficult away trips and robust interventions on the squad, which in in any case they brought the hoped-for fruits. More than deserved applause.
An objective achieved also for the women’s basketball of Nuova Virtus, which by passing through the poule playout ensured, in advance of the closing of the group, its permanence in the series B tournament. A result not to be taken for granted, given the young age of the roster, the terrible series of injuries that hit the team and the many games that slipped away in the last few possessions. However, the signs are very encouraging in relation to the near future, which speaks of consolidation of the base and a relaunch towards more ambitious objectives.
Turning the page, we come to the games still open. The Volley Club is having a great season in the women’s B1 tournament. They are currently third, in the last place that can qualify for the playoffs. The final sprint is starting, the team has been at the very top all year and deserves to stay there.
Finally, there is a lot of anticipation for the world of artistic gymnastics. Both the men’s team ‘Romagna Team’ and the women’s ‘Renato Serra’ will compete in the Final Six in May, which will give away the title of Italian champions. The men’s team has an excellent chance of aiming for the tricolor. The women’s team can aspire to the podium and in the meantime enjoy the individual results of its athletes: Chiara Barzasi has just won the bronze medal in a World Cup event. After this, there are only the Olympics.
