A concrete and determined TR Azzurra finally returns to win on the road after more than three months, conquering the Montecchio Precalcino track with full merit, even if by a narrow margin. A result which, pending the outcome of the Sunday postponement of the Symbol Amatori Modena in Correggio, allows Paolo Campanati’s boys to increase their lead to four points over a trio newly formed behind them and composed, in addition to the “canaries”, also from Thiene and Scandiano, winners respectively on Sandrigo and Seregno.
After an initial study phase, Maniero broke the deadlock at 8’09”. The Novara team persisted and Brusa doubled their lead at 13’46”. The hosts close the gap with Pozzo at 15’31” but Ortiz manages to bring the Azzurra’s lead back to two goals with 58″ remaining until the first half siren. In the second half, Gallotta, with a “raise and smash”, scores the 1-4 goal which will prove decisive. Immediately afterwards, the Vicenza players hit the target again with Giuliani Marchetti, repeating it with the same player 3’34” from the end. The final moments passed, as always happens in these cases, very slowly but Brusa and his teammates kept their concentration high, managing to bring home three points that could be decisive.
