Volleyball, Hermaea celebrates Sophie Blasi: the white-blue libero is the best receiver of the season

After the salvation which guarantees access to the A2 women’s volleyball for the eleventh consecutive year, Hermaea Olbia celebrates another milestone: libero Sophie Blasi wins the title of best receiver of the championship, placing herself at the top of the league table season, which officially ended on Thursday with the playoff final won by Talmassons (against Busto Arsizio).

The player from Bologna, born in 2002, was the best in her role, an achievement certified by the official League rankings drawn up in the last few hours. In terms of perfect receptions, Sophie had no rivals, taking first place with 49.63 percent, which allowed her to make a fundamental contribution to Hermaea, who had taken a long view by signing her last summer.

The 28 appearances with the Gallura club can be considered the best season of the career of the player, daughter of an artist (sportingly speaking, of a basketball player), who rediscovered herself as a free agent last year at Millenium Brescia. But behind him, in the special ranking of the Top Receivers, two other well-known faces can be recognized: the former libero Giorgia Caforio, who placed fourth with the Marignano shirt (48.41 percent), and another hermeina, or Bianca Orlandi, fifth with 47.02 percent. Just outside the top ten is the other blue and white Sara Fontemaggi, eleventh (41.16 percent).

Also noteworthy, as far as Hermaea players are concerned, is Virginia Adriano’s fourth place in the Top Spikers ranking, with 446 points scored.
