A 57-year-old man was hit and killed last night by a hit-and-run car, and the police are now investigating to trace the driver who fled. The victim is Michele Dalla Valle, from Piacenza, who had moved from Rivergaro to Carpaneto for some time.
The man was found lying on the ground, seriously injured, a few meters from his home. He was rushed to Piacenza hospital, where he died during the night.
The incident occurred in Carpaneto around 11pm on Saturday 27 April, when a woman passing along Via Leopardi noticed a man lying motionless on the asphalt. At this point she sought help at the nearby public assistance office and soon the nursing team from Fiorenzuola hospital also arrived on site. The carabinieri from the Norm of Fiorenzuola and colleagues from the Carpaneto station also arrived together with the rescue team.
The man was in serious condition and had many traumas and bruises all over his body. 118 rushed him to the emergency room in Piacenza, but during the night the 57-year-old died due to the severity of his clinical picture.
At the same time, investigations began by the Carabinieri of the Fiorenzuola Company who first examined the images taken by the surveillance cameras in the area. At the moment, however, there is still no trace of the hit-and-run driver.
