The Cinquestelle reward Gaffeo’s good governance with trust

ROVIGO – The members of the list of the 5 Star Movement of Rovigo who support the re-election of the outgoing mayor in the capital explained the reasons for their support for the mayoral candidate Edoardo Gaffeo in front of the deputy Enrico Cappelletti and the former senator Orietta Vanin, at the Il agriturismo Rovigo Forest.

“It will be very tough, we are convinced that Rovigo is the Piave line for the right, a strategic city to mark the destiny of the Region – stated the candidate Gaffeo – but we must work together, united, to avoid the right from re-governing, badly, as they have already shown they can do it.”

“We received a lot of pressure, but having to choose between those who are committed to good governance and those who have taken away their confidence in the outgoing administration, a few months after the administrative elections, for exclusively electoral reasons, we have chosen to support Edoardo Gaffeo after involving our members of the Movement which, with President Giuseppe Conte, has returned to its origins, organized in the area as a civic movement that has at heart honesty, legality, work, healthcare, social issues, the environment, the future of our young people and our elderly” introduced the provincial coordinator Elena Suman and the leader Carlo Costantini referring to the fracture with the Democratic Party.

“We too were surprised by the PD’s change of direction – said Cappelletti – we spoke with the outgoing administration, we appreciated the work done and it was natural to give our contribution by trying to transfer the national consensus to the municipal territory”

Gaffeo reiterated (READ ARTICLE) that the political proposal signed with the coalition forces travels in the same direction, with different sensitivities, but in a progressive field to make Rovigo grow and to offer more and more to the citizens.

The parliamentarians underlined the importance of participation, for the benefit of the citizens and not of the personalities of the candidates, in the regional and national battles carried out by the Movement, primarily against the supply of weapons which fuels the conflict in Ukraine, against differentiated autonomy , major works such as the pharaonic maintenance projects for the Mose in Venice, the 140 million euro bobsleigh track in Cortina “because these interventions drain resources and drastically cut transfers to the Municipalities. Saying yes to these interventions means taking away oxygen from everyone. Let’s start from the local, from the needs of citizens, from the needs of individuals, let’s not think backwards” it was said.

The candidate Gaffeo, touching on issues such as the financing of Iras or the need to close the swimming center for unavoidable maintenance needs, recalled that the “presumed primacy of politics” on compliance with the rules to be followed when administering public resources, i.e. those of all citizens, not just those interested in individual services, is a concept that doesn’t “hold up”. “Politics cannot do everything, it can do many things – reiterated Gaffeo – applying the rules means guaranteeing that every last cent is spent in total respect of legality and for the benefit of the whole community, in the interests of the organization and the citizens. ”.

On Iras, the jab at the League, which has managed Venetian healthcare for over twenty years, since the time of president Giancarlo Galan: “If the League had accomplished what all Venetian citizens are waiting for, i.e. the IPAB reform, we would have been able to manage it in a the Iras Rovigo affair is completely different” underlined the mayoral candidate Gaffeo, defining the regional delay as “disastrous”, recalling, finally, a recent ruling which condemned the system of ranking applicants for public housing.

“The Venetians first theorem, carried forward with slogans in recent years, i.e. the priority granted to citizens with over 5 years of residence in the Region for inclusion in the ERP housing rankings has been definitively dismantled. All citizens are equal and must benefit from housing based on real needs” concluded mayoral candidate Gaffeo, underlining the theme of inclusion of his own progressive camp.

“It’s time for legality to come back into fashion” concluded the Five Star Movement with a good omen of applause for mayoral candidate Edoardo Gaffeo.
