Air Force, the Labaro returned

The delivery ceremony of the Labarum of the local aeronautical association unit to the provincial association which will keep it in its ‘Torre Numai’ headquarters in Forlì took place in Modigliana. The flag was returned due to a lack of the minimum number of members. The historic Nucleo head Vincenzo Staffa entrusted the Labaro to the president of the Forlì section Renato Cappelli, present: the mayor of Modigliana Jader Dardi, civil and military authorities, representatives of military associations and citizens. On this occasion, those from Modigliano who made it possible to maintain ties with the military air force were remembered: General Massimo Montanari, pilot and commander of the legendary Pan Frecce Tricolori, pilot colonels Paolo Galli and Aldo Valmori; three pilots decorated with the Silver Medal for military valor during the two world wars; the pilot sergeant Lorenzo Cortesi, who fell in the skies of Albania in 1918, who left his name on the Labaro. Dardi thanked “for the role played by the Air Force helicopters which, in the midst of the emergency a year ago, were indispensable in bringing aid to the community”.
