for health and safety at work discouraging data

Today is World Day for Health and Safety at Work, and the spotlight on a crucial issue for everyone (the protection of life and safety at work) turns on with negative data for both Cesena and the entire Romagna region.

Even in the entire Emilia-Romagna region, through the data made available yesterday to the CISL, the picture certainly does not appear to be a comforting one: during 2022 alone, the accidents reported to Inail reached 81,921, therefore recording an increase of 9.25% compared to the previous year.

From the evaluation of INAIL data regarding reported accidents, it emerges that, after the decline recorded in 2020 due to the pandemic event which largely stopped the working machine for a long time, the negative trend resumed in the following years.

«This constant increase highlights the urgent need for targeted and incisive interventions to counter this dangerous trend and guarantee the safety and health of workers» insist the unions on a topic that has never been put on the back burner over time.

Analyzing the data in the three provinces of Romagna, Forlì-Cesena, after the decline of 16.09% in 2020, recorded an increase of 10.94% in 2021 and 3.02% in 2022.

Ravenna has a similar trend: with a 19.88% decrease in injuries recognized in 2020 and increases of 7.42% and 10.23% in subsequent years.

Finally, the province of Rimini which presents a smaller decline in 2020 with 9.33% and an increase in the following years of 1.45% in 2021 and 10.56% in 2022 respectively.

The 2023 Inail data, which is still in the process of being fully processed, already shows a worrying situation in the Romagna area: in fact, 27 fatal accidents have been reported (3 in the province of Rimini, 11 in Ravenna and 13 in Forlì-Cesena). Further analyzing the same data, it emerges that the overall reports of accidents were 18,769, of which 5,053 in the province of Rimini, 6,871 in Ravenna and 6,845 in Forlì-Cesena.
