Mayoral candidates, the first three-way confrontation

The appointment is certainly one of the highly anticipated ones: for the first time, in fact, the three mayoral candidates in the local elections on 8 and 9 June will compete in public. The appointment is for tomorrow in the Loria Auditorium in Carpi, starting at 8pm. The protagonists are the three candidates who aspire to become the next mayor of the city of Pio: Annalisa Arletti, group leader of Fratelli d’Italia, candidate for the centre-right coalition which sees the Meloni party, Lega and Forza Italia united and a civic list ‘Carpi protagonist for Arletti mayor’; Monica Medici (who after ten years of militancy in the Five Star Movement has decided to undertake a new independent path), candidate supported by two civic lists, the already existing ‘Carpifutura’ and the newly created ‘Civic Movement for Carpi’; Riccardo Righi, current councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Smart City of the Municipality, is the candidate of the center-left coalition which includes five parties, Pd, AVS (Alleanza Verdi Sinistra), Italia Viva, Azione, +Europa, and five civic lists, namely ‘Carpi 2.0’, ‘Laboratorio Carpi’, ‘Carpi Comune’, and the newly created ‘Carpi a Colori’ (Righi’s list) and ‘Bella Carpi’. The public debate is organized by ‘Radio 5.9’, a reality strongly rooted in the area. After presenting themselves ‘individually’ to the citizens in recent weeks, each in their own way, tomorrow evening the three candidates for mayor of Carpi will face each other in the Auditorium, answering a series of questions relating to issues related to the city and the major problems encountered in the last years. Questions that will follow an order of intervention established in such a way as not to prejudice or benefit anyone.

There will be an initial moment of individual ‘presentation’, starting from the slogan chosen to characterize and distinguish one’s electoral campaign: from ‘A new story’ by Annalisa Arletti to ‘The City of Longevity’ by Monica Medici, to ‘The city in color – Development colors tomorrow’ by Riccardo Righi. Just as, at the end of the discussion, everyone will be given the opportunity to make an ‘appeal’ to the citizens to vote. Entrance to the evening is free while places last (for information write to: [email protected]). Radio 5.9 was born in 2012 in Cavezzo, after the tragic earthquake that hit Emilia-Romagna and since 2016 it has been based in Carpi. Over the years it has become a point of reference for many young people, dealing with territory, sport, business and politics within its programmes. The latter in particular has always had a prominent place in the Radio 5.9 schedule which has hosted the vast majority of local administrators in the province of Modena and the Region, as well as many local and national political representatives of every party and alignment.
