Illegal manufacturing of weapons: a 39-year-old invalid arrested – Teramo

GIULIANOVA. Illegal manufacturing of firearms. It is with this accusation that, a few days ago, the financiers of the Gico (organized crime investigation group) of L’Aquila, with the help of the carabinieri of Giulianova’s company, executed a precautionary custody order in prison towards Stefano Brecciarolla, a 39 year old invalid from Giulia. The order was issued by the judge for preliminary investigations at the Teramo court Marco Procaccini at the request of the Teramo Public Prosecutor’s Office.
«The service activity», we read in a note released by the L’Aquila provincial command of the financial police, «comes to the end of complex judicial police investigations, which lasted a few months, which allowed the seizure of nine firearms “clandestine” fire and various ammunition as well as to identify the laboratory used by the arrested person and seize the relevant equipment. The activity conducted by the Fiamme Gialle dell’Aquila, carried out with the aid, in the final phase, of personnel from the Giulianova Carabinieri, saw the use of multiple investigative techniques and tools as well as search activities and observation, which allowed us to identify and reconstruct the illicit activities perpetrated by the recipient of the order”.
So far the official note from the investigators. From other sources we learn that Stefano Brecciarolla had already been arrested and immediately released last year for similar reasons, therefore evidently the precautionary custody order just carried out arises from the development of the same investigation: new elements gathered along the way have allowed the Teramo prosecutor’s office to request and obtain the arrest of the suspect from the investigating judge. Which, obviously, remains so at the moment even if he is now in prison in Castrogno: his possible guilt will have to be ascertained in a trial. Brecciarolla, moreover, appears to have already given the investigators his version of events months ago, saying that those weapons were given to him in custody, under threats, by members of the Roma crime group of Giulianova and that he is not able to modify them or even to manufacture them, also due to lack of suitable equipment. The laboratory mentioned in the Finance note would be the former artisan workshop of his father. Brecciarolla is defended by lawyers Filippo Torretta And Thomas Navarra, who prefer not to make any statements at this stage. At the moment, an application to the Court of Review to request the release of one’s client is excluded.
