Yellow weather alert between the provinces of Varese and Como from midnight on Sunday 28 April. This was reported by the functional risk monitoring center active at the regional Civil Protection operations room.
The expected risks are hydrogeological, thunderstorms and strong winds. They are planned for the remainder of Saturday 27 April rainfall, scattered to widespread, even convective in nature, on the western plain. Apennines and Alpine and pre-Alpine belt, with a tendency to intensify in the evening, in particular in the north-west sector. Weak winds are expected in the plains while in the mountains, between 700 and 1500 metres, weak to moderate, tending to strong at times in the evening with average hourly speeds which, towards the evening, could be between 20 and 50 km/h, with gusts in the Rhaetian sectors border between 40 and 70 km/h.
For the day of tomorrow 28 April Widespread rainfall is expected across the western plain and central-western sectors of the pre-Alpine and Alpine belt until late morning, particularly heavy in the north-west between night and early morning. Precipitation may also be convective in nature. From the afternoon, precipitation will be weak scattered across the western sectors, with a tendency towards drying up elsewhere. The possible convective phenomena expected will be of moderate intensity at most. Weak winds are expected in the plains, with reinforcements at times in the morning, attenuating in the afternoon.
In the mountains, between 700 and 1500 metres, moderate to strong winds are expected, with average hourly speeds, particularly until the morning, which could reach between 30 and 60 km/h in the Alpine and pre-Alpine sectors, attenuating from the central hours. Gusts between 40 and 70 km/h will be possible on the border sectors until the evening.
