Frost. The centre-right outside the parties that supports the “Alliance for Gela” and the candidate for mayor Salvatore Scerra, yesterday officially recruited the former candidate for the mayor’s seat, the Northern League member Giuseppe Spata. He will not follow the party, which is instead in the coalition in support of the engineer Grazia Cosentino, but he has given his approval to Scerra and his allies. Spata spoke of a Cosentino which, in terms of the waste service, given its role in the in-house Impianti Srr, risks becoming “controller and controlled”, if it manages to win the administrative elections. For the coalition that supports it, however, these are only attacks coming from “a clan of angry people”. This was explained by DC commissioner Giuseppe Licata, who was among the most convinced supporters of Cosentino’s entry into the field. “The decision of many people to join a coalition substantially devoid of any political, regional and national reference, photographs a city lost and without any point of reference – says Licata – almost all the protagonists of this crowd have militated until yesterday in various parties, moreover with important positions. The last, in order of time, to make this choice was councilor Spata who, forgetting that he owes everything to his party, does not hesitate to make statements that denote a desolating and disheartening moral and intellectual poverty. With what courage do you define that of the parties as a reckless choice made by an even more reckless ruling class? Does he realize that his statement is unacceptable and even dangerous? Does he understand it or not that the parties remain the only barrier against the proliferation of improvised crowds whose sole purpose is to perpetuate themselves and their own power? Does he want me to make the list for him? The DC exponent confirms the direction taken by his party and his full trust in the engineer Cosentino. It highlights a tendency to distance between the centre-right of the parties and the one now seen under the banner of “Alliance for Gela”.
