Earth and Liberation Day. Saint Martin replies: “Present”.
On Wednesday morning the municipal administration, in collaboration with local schools, celebrated the anniversary of the Liberation and Earth Day, within the forum in Piazzale Pertini, with many students, accompanied by numerous family members.
The education councilor Ilenia Francescon started the initiative, bringing greetings from the administration and recalling the importance of the two anniversaries, drawing the attention of those present in particular to the theme of respect for oneself, for others and for everything that surrounds us.
The students of the “Montessori” primary school began by thanking and presenting an award to Matteo Cesaretto, president of the “Il Tarassaco” association, for having created an important nature project with them.
The state and private nursery schools “Santa Maria Goretti” recited and sang songs focused on the environment and the importance of separate waste collection.
The primary school put on a very engaging show with songs and dances, while the students of the “Alighieri” secondary school concentrated on the celebration of the anniversary of the Liberation, remembering figures such as Antonio Gramsci and Giacomo Matteotti.
The day ended with the Mameli anthem, sung by all the kids, and the “silence”, accompanied by the sound of maestro Casella’s trumpet. Special thanks to the Villadose Comprehensive Institute, which participated particularly actively in the events proposed by the administration, to the Civil Protection, to the police forces, to the municipal offices for the management of the event and to all the students and families who participated in this important event.
San Martino di Venezze thus celebrated April 25th and planet Earth, remembering the past as a warning, to live this present with awareness, and build its future with hope.
