Turin – Shroud, a new Exposition in 2025: the announcement
Turin prepares for its jubilee year in 2025 with an innovative celebration of the Shroud, as announced by Archbishop Monsignor Roberto Repole.

The event will be characterized by different methods, especially aimed at young people.

A catechetical journey will involve young people in the foundations of Christianity, encouraging them to explore the meaning of the Shroud and the freshness of the Gospel. Around May 4, 2025, an exhibition dedicated to young people will be organized, while a “Tent of the Shroud” will be available for everyone in Piazza Castello. This space will provide the opportunity to learn about and approach the Shroud through various means, including documents, images, videos and podcasts, also using new digital and multimedia technologies. Repole underlines the importance of communicating the Gospel in an innovative way, making the Shroud an opportunity to involve the community in a contemporary dialogue.

“We will not do a classic exhibition – explained the Archbishop -, but we will experiment with new ways of being custodians of the Shroud.

First of all, starting from the young people, with whom we have undertaken a journey of catechesis on the foundations of Christianity, because it can be beautiful if they are the ones who first of all regain contact with this cloth and, through it, with the freshness of the gospel, above all the sense depth of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus”.

“The Shroud – concluded Repole – is a heritage that concerns us all, it is such an important treasure for the Church and must be an opportunity to communicate the Gospel in a new way”.
