WILTJER: “A DIFFICULT RACE AWAITS US IN BRINDISI. THE PLAYOFFS WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT

Interviewed in local Venetian newspapers, Kyle Wiltjer spoke about the challenge that awaits his Umana Reyer Venezia on the Happy Casa Brindisi pitch: “A very important match awaits us in Brindisi because we will have a team up against us that must save themselves, play at home and in a warm environment. For us, however, it is excellent training in view of the playoffs, playing such tough games in similar atmospheres trains us to win away games and we must bring them inside to grow. We will have to maintain a very high level of pace and standard, we will play as if we were already in the playoffs. Obviously we hope to return home healthy and without ailments, but it will be a match that we will exploit to get closer to the post season.”

Reyer is also making progress according to Wiltjer: “We are very well, this week we trained with great application and concentration, doing something better every day. The playoffs are very difficult but, by maintaining this attitude, the results will come. Personally, I’m fine and I feel like I’m in rhythm with the game. My role is particular because I have to come off the bench and always be ready. I also believe I have reached the right mental state to play this role, from the point of view of the energy I bring to the pitch and the contribution to the team. This role suits me.”
