Naplesthe project of “food income“to donate food to needy families in the area does not take off. The Municipality of Naples, after having presented the public notice for participation in the project, both looking for donors and third sector bodies willing to participate in the distribution of food, was forced to reopen the deadlines “due to poor participation in the notices”.

Initially the deadline was set for 18 March, then it was extended by the Municipality for the first time, finally, at the request of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies which has also received requests for extension from other municipalities in Italy, a second time, until next April 4th.

The notice, explains the note from Palazzo San Giacomo, is aimed at «operators in the food sector, public and private merchants, for the donation of food surpluses as part of the “Food Income” experiment aimed at reducing food waste», and also to «Third Sector Bodies for identifying the subjects with whom to stipulate an agreement for the realization of the project».
