By bike, on foot, running, on the wall: everything is ready for the 2024 edition of “La Spezia Outdoor”

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May returns “La Spezia Outdoor”, the event that combines sport and tourism which this year offers a program full of events, a plurality of sports disciplines, competitive and non-competitive competitions, but also an opportunity to rediscover the area through excursions in the city and in the hilly area. The program of the event was presented this morning at Palazzo Civico during a press conference by the councilors for sport and tourism. La Spezia is a city to be experienced in the open air with its many possibilities to explore the area: whether you love cycling, trekking or simple walks, there is no shortage of opportunities to experience the outdoors in the city. “An event to be experienced in the open air and designed for adults and children – declares the mayor Pierluigi Peracchini – thanks to which it will be possible to practice various sports disciplines set in a unique naturalistic context in the world. On the one hand therefore tourism promotion and on the other valorisation of sport and the importance of practicing physical activity for health. Ours is an area that offers various opportunities and this initiative is an opportunity to get to know them.”

The initiative, coordinated by the departments of sport and tourism, offers a program full of events: meetings and information events will be organized at the village set up for the occasion, it will be possible to participate and compete in activities of different sporting disciplines, as well as take part to excursions in the city and in the hilly area of ​​the area. “With a view to the path undertaken by the tourism department – ​​adds the deputy mayor Maria Grazia Frijia – focusing on the development of the outdoor system means continuing along the path of valorising the tourism system of our territory, also in reference to the vast area of ​​tourism. We have been working for years together with trade associations to create an Outdoor system that enhances trekking, cycling and active seaside itineraries: only by creating a system will we be able to guarantee an offer of quality tourist services suitable for all seasons and increasingly rich in activities unique.” “Outdoor sports and tourism in a unique context which will allow, again this year, many sporting activities to be carried out, creating a day to remember made up of sociality, sharing, the desire to be together in a sustainable way, appreciating all our natural beauties unique. An experience to be “enjoyed” and not to be missed”, added the sports councilor Marco Frascatore.

During the two days you will be able to get to know sports clubs and associations, there will be over 35 those who will participate, and there will be the opportunity to try some sports such as Nordic walking, wall climbing, rowing, badminton badminton. Furthermore, an inflatable area will be used with a football and basketball field inside, an ice skating path for the little ones and table tennis. But there will also be space for horse riding for adults, teenagers and children, cycling activities with cycling guides, workshops, excursions and much more.
