The 89 year old Enzo Filippi De Santis he was well known in the city and in the area; surveyor, he had been mayor of Acciano in the 60s. His son Andrea, a lawyer, is well known in the city. An autopsy has been ordered which will shed light on the causes of death. He had been hospitalized since the day of the accident. The death occurred on April 24th.
The incident dates back to 8 April: the man was crossing the road on Viale di Collemaggio, at the pedestrian crossing, before the intersection with Via Iacobucci, at the Villa Comunale. The driver of the car was a young man from L’Aquila currently under investigation for vehicular homicide who, after hitting the man, stopped to provide assistance. She intervened on site to investigate the case. Filippi De Santis was transferred to hospital. The clinical picture, as reported by Il Centro, immediately appeared serious, so much so that the 89-year-old fell into a coma immediately after being taken care of by the doctors. The funeral will be celebrated today at 4pm in the parish church of Roccapreturo.
