The Teano Jazz Contest 2024 arrives at San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Naples. A delegation fromTeano Jazz Associationcomposed of the president Walter Guttoriello and by the artistic director of Teano Jazz Festival, Antonio Feolatogether with the new recruits, the guitarist Marco Laurenza and the choreographer Giuliana Guttorielloreached the Spontini room, in the historic headquarters of the Neapolitan institution, granted by the director Gaetano Panariello for the official presentation of the contest to the teachers of the Jazz Music department of the conservatory Giulio Martino, Maria Pia De Vito, Pietro Condorelli And Marco Sannini and their students.
Director Feola spoke about the history of the Teano Jazz Festival, the longest-running and most prestigious in Campania also due to the importance of the musicians who have taken turns on the stage of the event since the first editions (the very first dates back to 1993), while Laurenza described the program and organization of the event and addressed the technical aspects. Giuliana Guttoriello underlined the spirit that pushed the members of the association to relaunch the festival, after the period of suspension caused by the pandemic and the difficult post-Covid economic situation.
After the presentation, the delegation was invited to visit the historic rooms of the conservatory, from the Scarlatti room to the beautiful museum, with the guidance of the library manager Tiziana Grande.
The final phase of the Contest will take place on July 21st in Roccamonfina, in Piazza Nicola Amore. The registration procedure was started on March 1st and the deadline for submitting an application is May 30th. The proposals will be examined by a commission made up of teachers Daniele Scannapieco (Salerno conservatory), Pietro Condorelli (Naples Conservatory) e Leonardo De Lorenzo (Conservatory of Benevento).
