The game will be played on Sunday 28 April at 6pm Monza-Perugia, game 4 of the final series which awards the 2023-2024 men’s volleyball Super League Scudetto. The team led by Massimo EccheliThe record coach, is the great revelation of this vintage. However Sunday’s match goes – it will be played as the best of five matches – the Brianza team has already brought home a great result, demonstrating personality, technique and character. Eccheli’s boys, seeded fifth in these playoffs, first eliminated Civitanova and then Trento, going on to win game 5 away in both cases.

Lorenzetti’s team is hunting for the second title in its history after the one won in 2018. Perugia, second in the regular season, eliminated Verona and Milan in the previous rounds, in three and four games respectively. The Umbrian team has personality and class to spare, but on Sunday they have to deal with the Brianza team, never tamed and capable of reacting even in the most difficult moments.

Massimo Eccheli’s career began in 1986 in the youth team of his city, withASA Cinisello Balsamo. The Ciniselle coach cut his teeth in the youth ranks in various teams between Milan and Monza. After the first experience at Asa, the transition to
at Gonzaga, at Geas di Sesto feminine, Segratese, Milan Volley, at Gonzaga Milan for three years, Pro Victoria Monza and Asystel Volley Milan.
The important results achieved with the youth teams in 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 earned him, in the first months of the 2020-2021 sporting year, a call to the first team of SuperLega Credem Banca, on the bench of Vero Volley Monza. President Alessandra Marzari and sporting director Claudio Bonati bet on him and Eccheli repays the Club’s trust with a fourth place in the regular season, historic access to the Scudetto semi-final and the pass for the 2022 CEV Cup. In 2021-2022 he writes a another page in the history of the Vero Volley Consortium: first he accompanied his team to the Final of the Del Monte® Supercoppa Italiana, beating the hosts Cucine Lube Civitanova in the Semi-final of the Final Four, and subsequently to the conquest of the CEV Cup 2022, thanks to the double success in the Final against the French Tours, bringing the first men’s continental title to Monza. To crown his career, this year he accompanies Vero Volley to compete in the final for the first time.
