Renato Brucoli, journalist, writer and publisher, is no longer with us. The other Molfetta loses a very valuable collaborator. The condolences of the Director, Sergio Magarelli, and of the entire editorial staff reach the family.
A lay believer, he actively collaborated with Don Tonino Bello during his episcopate, directing by his will the religious information weekly of the diocese of Molfetta, the city Caritas of Terlizzi and the emergency sector of the diocesan Caritas coinciding with the great migratory exoduses from ‘Albania towards Puglia.
Biographer and essayist of the Venerable, he testified in the canonization process. He has published historical essays dedicated to particular figures of the twentieth century: mainly Don Tonino Bello, the witnesses of the diocesan Church on mission, the martyrs of Ardea, the anti-fascists of his own land.
The Catholic University of the Sacred Heart awarded him the gold medal for cultural merit in 2006; the Order of Journalists of Puglia, the prestigious “Michele Campione” Award in 2013, 2015, 2019. In 2016 he received the “Eccellenze di Puglia” award from the Puglia Regional Association of Milan.
