CHIETI -Following the statements released by the mayor of Chieti Diego Ferrara, Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico has requested an urgent meeting at the headquarters of the Municipal Administration.

Present at the meeting: Luigi Di Giosaffatte And Massimo Cervellini for Confindustria e Carlo Fulgenzi, Operations Director e Silvana Roatta Dayco HR Manager.

“I made myself available for the meeting because in recent days we had learned with serious concern the news of a possible relocation of Dayco from the Chieti plant – reports Diego Ferrara – thanks to the discussion we had today, I received reassurances that there is no risk neither delocalisation nor job losses. We are pleased that the company top management, together with those of Confindustria, wanted to reassure us, also explaining that this is exclusively a project to ensure the production continuity of the three Abruzzo sites in the event of extraordinary events linked to natural disasters and significant faults”. As an Administration we had feared the possibility of relocation, both due to the importance of the industrial reality in question and due to the loss of jobs. At an institutional level we are keen that the industrial district of Chieti maintains its history and its presence, to continue to be a lever for the development of the entire territory”.

As highlighted and signed in the meeting held in Confindustria last 18 April with the company top management and with the RSUs and the Territorial Category secretariats, the Company, in confirming the centrality and importance of the Abruzzo plants and the Semi-finished products department in Chieti , underlines that this business continuity project is of an exclusively protective nature towards the sites themselves. Furthermore, the Company reiterates that this project will have no impact on employment levels in the Semi-finished products area of the Chieti site. The General Director of Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico, Luigi Di Giosaffatte, in thanking the company’s top management for their transparency and punctuality in communicating and reconstructing the facts, hopes for an imminent meeting aimed at overcoming the stalemate. The Mayor of Ferrara has undertaken to convene an urgent meeting with the trade union organisations, the company and Confindustria to reach a definitive solution to safeguard the territory.
