(Adnkronos) – Earthquake today in Tuscany, with “seismic swarm with mild tremors” between the provinces of Florence and Prato. “A new earthquake of magnitude 3 was felt by the population between Barberino di Mugello and Val di Bisenzio. Approximately 50 shocks were recorded in the seismic swarm, at the moment no critical issues have been reported”, writes the President of the Region on Facebook, Eugenio Giani, informing that “monitoring of the regional system is underway”.
The seismic swarm was recorded during the night in the Barberino di Mugello area (Florence). From 00.39 am the INGV monitoring network recorded a series of around fifty earthquakes with a magnitude of 3.1 – 2.9 – 2.0 -3.1 with an epicenter in the municipality of Barberino di Mugello.
From checks by the Civil Protection Room of the Metropolitan City of Florence with the relevant operations rooms, the phenomenon, perceived by the population, did not lead to critical issues. The 3.1 tremors were distinctly felt by the population between Barberino di Mugello and Val di Bisenzio.
