The Higher Institute of Health (ISS) is also taking action regarding the dose of heroin purchased in Perugia and containing 5 percent Fentanyl. Based on what appears, the outcome of the analyzes carried out by the Forensic Medicine, Forensic Sciences and Sports Medicine of the University of Perugia, which detected the presence of the very powerful opioid, a report would also have been triggered to the national alert system (Snap), coordinated since 2017 by the National Center for Addiction and Doping of the ISS, and which deals with new psychoactive substances.

Fentanyl in Perugia The objective of the Snap is “to carry out analyses, checks, disseminate information with different alert levels to provide a timely/operational response”. And in this sense we are waiting to understand whether the dose of heroin bought in Perugia and containing 5 percent Fentanyl will be analyzed again to confirm the presence of the very powerful substance.

How the report was born In the meantime, other details emerge on the sachet that ended up in the hands of the Serd street unit, managed by Borgorete. In fact, the person who handed it over to the operators was apparently a heroin user who, during one of the interviews focused on the subject’s health conditions, reported a very severe state of malaise resulting from heroin consumption. Hence the request from the staff of the Serd street unit in Perugia to be able to analyze the substance, which was first subjected to some reagents for a rapid check and then delivered to the Forensic Medicine, Forensic Sciences and Sports Medicine analysis laboratory of the University of Perugia.
