“Baldassarre”, school (and home) of Sport: wins at the regional athletics championships
Descriptive text here

For several years now, the Baldassarre school has been making a triumphant statement at the regional athletics championships. The boys attract the attention of the public (and observers) and constitute a real feather in the cap, a particular pride for the entire school in Piazza Dante, for its headmaster Marco Galiano, for all their teachers. , specifically for those in physical education who prepare children for the whole year. And the feats are even more worthy and amplified in their scope by the fact that these kids reach such heights, performances, results, despite the fact that sports facilities are scarce in the City, in particular those dedicated to athletics, one of the disciplines in which the kids from Baldassarre , in recent days, have literally hit the jackpot with memorable performances.

The Baldassarre team participated with the men’s team:
Michele Piccininni – speed; Alessio Fasciano – hurdles;
Domenico Zeno Torella – 1000 meters; Andrea Roberto Ciliento – high jump; Fabio Ierrobino – long jump; Alessandro Carbutti – shot put;
Andrea Garofalo- vortex launch
Giovanni Angelilli and Marco Scaringi were on hand.

Some students who had qualified in first place in the provincial finals also participated:
Sara Palumbo – long jump
Giorgia Papaleo – shot put
Cristina Pignstaro- Speed
Margherita Zucaro – 1000 meters.
Here are the results: in the 80 meter race, Michele Piccininni, time 10.37, ranked 3rd; in the 80 meter hurdles Alessio Fasciano with a time of 12.32, took first place; in the 1000 meter race Domenico Torella, with a time of 2.59, placed first; in the vortex throw, Andrea Garofalo (56.50 m) ranked third; for the shot put, Alessandro Carbutti (10.69 m) ranked second; for the long jump, Fabio Ierrobino (4.80 m) ranked third; for the high jump, Andrea Ciliento (1.40 m) ranked fourth; for the 4×100 relay, participants Ierrobino, Fasciano, Garofalo and Piccininni, with a time of 51.1 and still first place.

The teachers who managed the preparation were professors Raffaele Musicco and Paola Mauro, with the coordination of prof. Giuseppe Laninafra.

It is therefore worth mentioning the first regional place for the men’s team (on the shields therefore Fasciano, Torella and the boys of the 4 × 100: Ierrobino, Garofalo and Piccininni, who graduated, in fact, regional champions) with qualification for the national athletics finals which will take place in Pescara from 27 to 31 May.
