LADISPOLI – The police officers arrested 4 women and a man, between 20 and 33 years old, of Romanian origins, as they were seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated theft in competition.
Specifically, the officers, while passing through Vilnius street in Ladispoli, noticed 5 people in a car who, suspiciously, were probably searching the area, continuously wandering around the nearby city streets.
The police followed the suspicious car until, having reached Via Glasgow, near a supermarket, the vehicle stopped and 4 women got out; at that point, the officers followed them inside the business and, at the same time, one of them remained to monitor the behavior of the man, who remained driving the car, who was continuously looking around in a frantic manner. Inside the business, the operators noticed the women removing goods from the shelves until they were almost empty, then going to the only active cash register and paying for a negligible amount of food, going out and getting into the car, heading towards via Helsinki . The officers followed the 4 in the car while the man, who had been driving before, had already left on foot, shortly before they went out, because he probably noticed the presence of the police. At the same time, the operators managed to reach both the driver on foot in via Copenhagen and the 4 in the car in via Helsinki.
The investigators identified the 4 women, two 27-year-olds, a 20-year-old and a 30-year-old, and the man, a 33-year-old, all of Romanian origins, ascertaining that they had removed several cosmetic products and several bottles of champagne; furthermore, in the trunk of the car, they found other foodstuffs, as well as some pharmaceutical products presumably stolen from other commercial activities.
The 5 were arrested because they were seriously suspected of committing the crime of aggravated theft in competition.
The arrests, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Civitavecchia, were validated by the investigating judge.
