The Velo Club Vercelli confirms itself as leader of the Alpi SuperPrestige Tricolore circuit.
In the second test, Thursday 25 April in Casale, stage victory between the teams for the patron club Venio Trebaldi, 3 first places in the category and as many second places, 1 third place and other various placings.
In Santa Maria del Tempio, in the middle distance organized by Ciclo Sport Casale, characterized by a course full of “cotês” and bumpy asphalt, worthy of a Tour of Flanders, the 17 standard bearers of the team put themselves on display by going to the boarding, like pirates, on the competitive climb Ozzano – Treville.
With experience, the velo cyclists were able to stay away from the hidden dangers in the 5 km of ascent, with the initial “wall” at 16% and the continuous relaunches and so: Giuseppe Vella achieved his first category victory, like Massimo Bussa among the Gentleman B who, looking at the sky, dedicated this triumph to those who are no longer here, and Giorgio Vettori first among the Supergentleman C.
Very positive debut for Simone Cabiale who, on his home streets, immediately took 2nd place in the category among the A veterans, like Vito Greco among the B supergentlemen and Valeria Ubertino W2.
5th place among the rookies for Mattia Sanzone, awarded on Sunday during the Granfondo Mangia e Bevi at the end of the long route.
3rd place among the Senior A for Nicolò Boltri, one of the club’s confirmations, on the category podium for the second time in a row.
Also convincing performances were those of: Gianluca Lagiorgia and Luigi Vitali (6th and 7th among the Senior B), Alberto Levantesi and Mario Martorana (7th and 8th), Massimiliano Passera and Marco Gatti, Fabio Flores (6th) and Roberto Avetta started despite the plasters and bruises after Sunday’s fall during the most intense phases of the Mangia e Bevi granfondo.
