Espargarò’s doubts
In home Aprilia the focus is entirely on this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, where the Noale team is also starting to evaluate what could be the future of Aleix Espargarò. The Spaniard, whose contract expires at the end of this year, has in fact reiterated that he is not yet completely convinced about what will be the continuation of his career and his experience in Aprilia, to the point of wanting to concentrate especially on the next four races without think excessively about your future, so much so that you admit you aren’t even interested in it.
When will the decision come?
An issue that obviously does not take second place Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia and guest of Sky Sport MotoGP at the end of the Jerez tests. If he instead sees that he starts to pay a price, we will put ourselves on the market and there will be many alternatives.”
The profile for the post-Aleix
If the adventure in Aprilia were to end, Rivola then indicated the ideal profile of the rider who could replace Espargarò from 2025: “Surely an Italian name can be interesting to a 100% Italian team, and this can be pleasing, but there is no real profile, other than that of a pilot and a person devoted to the cause – he concluded – finding someone like Aleix and with his spirit is not easy, but we will try to get someone ready to share joys and sorrows, if Aleix decides to stop.”
