Naples earthquake at Campi Flegrei with epicenter on the coast of Pozzuoli: magnitude and time
Strong earthquake shock during the night in Naples, by magnitude 3.9 on the Richter scale, at 5.44 am, at a depth of approximately 3 km, according to information from the Observatory and INGV.
Naples earthquake: epicenter and magnitude
The earthquake shock was felt distinctly by Naples to Pozzuoliand was localized with epicenter just off the coast of Pozzuoli. The tremor at dawn on Saturday 27 April made the local inhabitants agitated: some even abandoned their homes and took to the streets out of fear.
The seismographs ofVesuvian Observatory they recorded it at 5.44 am Italian time, with an estimated magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale (with a margin of error of 0.3) and at a depth of 3 km.
As can be seen from the earthquakes section of the INGV website, there were also other seismic events during the night, but clearly of lesser magnitude: the seismographs recorded a total of 21 up to 5.58am. But many of these have magnitudes less than 1.
