Lateral guardrails on the Faenza ring road, work will resume from Monday

From Monday, work will resume along the Faenza ring road to install the lateral guardrails, essential elements, together with others, for road safety. “The intervention – we read in a note from the Union of Romagna Faentina -, which started in January 2023, was then suspended during the flood period. The works involve making the roads safe with targeted measures to adapt the safety level of the road infrastructure, conforming it to the regulatory standards required in relation to the protection of the lateral edges of the road platform, through the use of suitable safety barriers”. And again: “The project involves the removal of the safety barriers currently present along the entire development of the ring road and the installation of new certified protection devices. On the bridges, the replacement of the existing parapets with new elements of the type railing, in addition to that of the ‘anti-stone’ protection nets in correspondence with the road or railway views”.

The intervention, which will be carried out in phases, will involve the modification of the road system which involves the narrowing of the roadway from two to one lane; the changes will be indicated in the sections affected by the construction site signs and by the presence of signs of the appointed company. The stretch of road affected by the installation of the lateral guardrails is between the Strada Dei Vini e Dei Sapori roundabout (Bologna side near the Le Cicogne centre) up to the intersections of via Santa Lucia and via Carchidio, also involving the closure of the lay-bys parking.
