SARONNO – A truly unmissable event this evening at the sports hall in the Ronchi center in via Colombo with game 1 (played best of three) of the quarter-finals of the playoffs of the Interregional Serie B men’s basketball championship, between Az Robur Saronno who won the regular season and Lucca, who occupies the eighth and last place in the tableone. Starts at 9pm, better to show up early because it’s likely to be full.
The playoff formula
How this year’s playoffs work:
– all series will be best of three games, so you have to win two to go through. The first match of the series (game 1) and the eventual play-off (game 3) are played at the home of the best classified between the regular season and the Gold phase.
– the North West Conference draw brings together teams from Piedmont (1), Lombardy (2) and Tuscany (5). Liguria was also there at the start, but the last contender was eliminated on the last day of the play-in.
– the round following the quarter-finals are the semi-finals: winner 1/8 (Saronno-Lucca) against winner 4/5 (Pavia-Siena) and winner 2/7 (Empoli-Quarrata) against winner 3/6 (Cecina-Casale Monferrato) and then the final. All best of three games.
– the winner of the Conference final will be promoted to the National Serie B, while the loser is automatically qualified for the play-off which will be played with the defeat of the North East Conference final.
