Away against Sampdoria and then home match against Cittadella. Does it remind you of anything? They were the matches that Como played in the same order twenty-one years ago, on the third last and penultimate day, in the season finale that accompanied the biancazzurri towards Serie A.
Today we go back a day, and there is also another fundamental detail, those were matches played with the promotion already acquired. These could instead be the ones that take Como towards the finish line. But the analogy makes you smile, almost a sign of destiny, even in two very different stories there is something common.
What must not happen, however, is that that negative result is repeated today at Marassi. It was possible then, but not today. Today everything is still to be conquered, that match no longer counted for anything. In this test however – significantly to be played in a Serie A stadium in terms of structure, environment and audience, a sort of dress rehearsal – Como is faced with an almost decisive final exam. Which fortunately, however it goes, will not give negative sentences of failure, whatever happens there is still time. But it can give a lot in a positive sense.
