The Carabinieri of the Tivoli Terme station arrested a 23-year-old Georgian man in flagrante delicto, without a fixed address and with a criminal record, seriously suspected of committing the crime of aggravated robbery.

Last afternoon, in Guidonia Montecelio, in the Villanova area, two individuals broke into an apartment in via D’Azeglio, owned by a pensioner, who was on holiday abroad at the time. The alarm signal from the video surveillance system arrived on the mobile phone of the man’s son, who lives at home with him. While viewing the footage from the cameras in real time, the young man actually noticed the presence of 2 people who were breaking into the house, so he decided to rush home, also asking some friends for help.

Having arrived at the house, the owner’s son together with his friends noticed the couple seen shortly before in the video from the video surveillance system, walking away with bags full of stolen goods in their hands, including watches and jewellery. A violent fight ensued, during which one of the two managed to escape.

The Carabinieri from the Tivoli Terme station also arrived on site, alerted via 112 by the homeowner, who managed to definitively block the 23-year-old, who was arrested, and at the disposal of the Judicial Authority taken to the Rome Rebibbia prison, while investigations to trace the accomplice are still underway.
