The company from the Vibo area is the protagonist of the “Souvenirs de Vojage” project which is enjoying success among the public, press and critics: “It is a pride to represent Calabria and Made in Italy”
The Calabrian furniture company Domenico Cugliari Italia has arrived at Milan Design Week 2024 with a partnership project with the designer Simone Guidarelli which is attracting the attention of visitors and the national press. “Souvenirs de Vojage”, this is the name of the project, it was presented during the Milan Design Week at Superstudio Più within the exhibition «FUORISERIE tangible – intangible» organized by CNA – National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises – with the art direction of Sapiens Design Studio and Stefano Lodesani Studio.
Guidarelli chose Domenico Cugliari Italia for the wood molding as well as for the creation of luxury furnishings that are part of the composition. The inspiration for “Souvenirs de Vojage” are souvenir photos and souvenir plates from the Seventies, put on paper, postcards of a happy experience. Oriental motifs, Renaissance fountains, herons, giraffes and ostriches, details coming directly from the successful patterns of previous collections, everything finds its place in the common thread of the vivid re-enactment of a lived past.

In this case we made the table, chairs and glass cabinet in fine lacquered wood on which the patterns are reproduced,” explains Cugliari.

The exhibition was reported by Archiproductsone of the most well-known design and architecture portals, and received visits from authoritative figures including Karim Rashid, still one of the most important figures in world design.
