What to see at the Flower Festival in Acireale
From 25 April to 1 May 2024 the picturesque Sicilian town in the province of Catania will be transformed into an enchanting open-air garden for the usual annual event of Flower Festival. It will be an intense week and a wave of tourists is expected in the city coming from all over Italy not only to see the beautiful parades of flower-decorated wagonsbut also live performances by famous Italian singers.

In fact, every evening at 9pm there will be a concert live. In order of days we will see performing on stage: Max Gazzè, Discomania Radio 105, Le Vibrazioni, Sicily folk Orchestra with Mario Venuti and Kabailà, Dj Cacciola and Kenzo.
However, there is great anticipation for the May Day concert where there will be non-stop music from midday to midnight. The concert will also close this year’s edition of the Flower Festival.
The flower show
If you want to see the fashion shows instead flower-decorated wagons and take highly Instagrammable videos and photos you must go to the historic center of Acireale on 26, 27 and 28 April at 9.30 am.
There are also fixed floral installations located in different strategic points of the historic center. For example, in Piazza Garibaldi you will find the Flower Garden, in Piazza XXV Aprile the Olive Garden and in Piazza Duomo the Sicilian Citrus Fruits. In Piazza A. Grassi you will find the Canfore Garden, but also the Puppet show every day of the event at 7pm sharp.
Great trepidation for the parade on April 27th at 3 pm “The most beautiful costumes in Sicily” as part of the Misterbianco Carnival.
There awarding of the flower-decorated floats most beautiful winners of this edition of the Flower Festival will be held on April 28th at 11pm in Piazza Duomo.
The event will therefore not only have flowers as its protagonists, but also music, beauty, art, entertainment and good food.
