To see the first ball enter the hole we will have to wait until 2025, for completion in 2027. But the «Tierra Samnium Golf Club» took another important step towards realization yesterday. Mayor Clemente Mastella and the administrator of Antum Real estate Flavian Basile they signed up to Mosti Palace the program agreement, a condition for the green light for the intervention planned between Coluonni and Cretarossa in variation to the urban plan. Not only will the 18 holes that will make the Benevento green one of the main southern temples of golf, but also a resort, event facilities and facilities for other sports disciplines. All for an extension of 90 hectares, 30 of which are occupied by building volumes, and an investment of 22.2 million, 5 of which have already been formally promised by the Sports Credit. Now the ball goes to town Council which must ratify the agreement within 30 days, under penalty of forfeiture. A fulfillment that does not appear in doubt, given the unity demonstrated by the Mastellian team since the declaration of public interest approved exactly one year ago by the majority. It will therefore be the publication in the Official Bulletin of the Region that will complete this phase of the complex bureaucratic process, which however will not be concluded as it will also have to undergo the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure.

THE TERMS

The text of the program agreement signed yesterday makes this clear. «Antum real estate – states article 2 – undertakes to present an implementation urban plan (Pua) with possible value of building permit, on which to acquire, through the start of a services conference, the opinions necessary for the realization of the project. The PUA must be presented by the promoter within 12 months of the publication of the agreement on the Burc”. Pua which will have to take into account in particular the requirements set, most recently, by the Province with the decree signed 3 days ago by President Nino Lombardi. Above all, those concerning “the protection of water resources, soil resources, air resources” and the execution of “periodic monitoring of water supply and consumption”, issues already referred to in the favorable opinion issued by the Municipality on the basis of the observations presented by the associations.

THE TIMELINE

The agreement signed yesterday also dictates the timetable of the initiative which will develop over four years. During the first year of implementation, the «construction of the practice and short game field, the putting green and the pitching green, the land development, the construction of sports facilities (multi-purpose grass field for football, rugby and shooting arch, tennis courts, 5-a-side football pitches, 7-a-side football pitch, outdoor gym and street basketball, climbing and 7 padel courts)”, but above all “the configuration of the first 9 holes of the golf course”, and the creation of the event structure called «Tierra Domus». In the second year, the agenda includes “the construction of the accommodation facilities and arrangement of external areas” and the “completion of the first 9 holes of the golf course”. It will therefore be in the third year of the agreement that the 18-hole circuit and the supporting clubhouse will be completed, leaving the “finish work and completion of the intervention” to the fourth and final year.

THE COMMENT

A moment that is greeted with satisfaction by the mayor Clemente Mastella and by the councilor for urban planning Molly Chiusolo: «With the signing of the program agreement and the subsequent vote, within a month, in the city council, the project to have in the city of Benevento one of the largest golf courses in the South. With 18 holes, it will be a facility of international importance. We are sure – highlight the mayor and the executive representative – that the golf course will have a significant sporting and tourist impact, to the benefit of the city and its economy”.
