Pizzarotti meets Anselmo: “Increasingly stronger coalition”

“Given the current administration of Ferrara, you will also find Vannacci as a candidate”. The former mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti, now running for the European elections with Azione, introduces himself with a joke. “But perhaps it would be better to stay among the Emilia Romagna area to talk about our potential that we want to bring to Europe”.

On the morning of Friday 26 April, Pizzarotti reached Piazza Trento Trieste to meet Fabio Anselmo at the signature collection banquet of the Calenda liberal party. “Having Action in my coalition – declares the mayoral candidate – is a very important element of strength. Although it is very varied it is proving to be very united, beyond the national alignments for the city of Ferrara we remain united because we care about the future of the next generations. Ferrara absolutely must make up for a problem that particularly afflicts our city, which is that of the hemorrhage of young people”.

“This is a fundamental concept – adds Pizzarotti -. It is not enough to talk about a broad coalition regardless of the program and the person who represents it. We saw what happened in Abruzzo or Basilicata. The difference is made by the candidate, by those who carry forward the values and program of the coalition itself. So congratulations to Fabio and Ferrara for the courage of this choice”.

The provincial secretary of Action, Danny Farinelli reiterates the great work done by Pizzarotti in Parma, noting that “the city was in a disastrous situation, but Federico is an example of excellent administration and now the Parma capital could be among the best in Italy and of Europe. And then we have another example of excellent administration which is Fabio when he becomes mayor, not if he becomes one”.

Pizzarotti adds that “Emilia Romagna must remain among the leaders in Italy in terms of industry and healthcare. We think it is very important to request funding from the European ESM. There is a need to invest given the Government cuts. Even on agricultural issues, our Region is among the first in the national territory and must continue to be so. I am convinced that we will achieve a great result and there is no doubt that we will pass the threshold.”

“It is necessary to be clear, for those who apply – concludes Pizzarotti – that they must know how to listen to the territory and the context in which they find themselves in order to make the most of the funding arriving from Europe”.
