(AGENPARL) – Fri 26 April 2024 Prato, Forza Italia security package: “The right to personal safety will be a priority of the Centre-Right with a new security pact”
Prato, 26 April. – “Today is the news of yet another very serious episode of violence in our city, an unprecedented and hateful violence like the attempted rape. For this reason, Forza Italia Prato has presented a comprehensive package of measures to improve urban safety in our city. Because it must be clear that in our city violence is punished starting from prevention.” This is stated by the Hon. Erica Mazzetti, Forza Italia MP and national head of FI’s public works department, on the sidelines of a Forza Italia press conference with Aldo Milone and the centre-right mayoral candidate Gianni Cenni. For Mazzetti, “two new police stations are essential, one in the North and one in the South, to allow for a more in-depth and widespread control of the vast and complex territory”. Along with this, “a customs office at Macrolotto” is needed so as to control the entry and exit of the goods”. “The decisive point is urban, social and economic regeneration which must start from the redevelopment of city neighbourhoods: possible with a public-private partnership”. “Prato has extraordinary peculiarities, therefore a new urban security pact between the state and the city is needed with integrated policies for urban security, creating a national laboratory”. “A clear and pragmatic line must also be used to combat unfair competition which takes away considerable resources from the city”. “Everyone – reiterates Mazzetti – deserves safety and deserves to feel safe in our city”. “Fundamental – he notes – will be the reorganization of the municipal police force with better deployment of human and economic resources: more vigilant among the people and less in the offices and new technologies that already exist and must be put into place”. “Along with safety, traffic is the other issue that is deeply felt by the citizens of Prato. Mobility inside and outside our city is also a problem that we are committed to solving. For example, Taiti’s proposal on this topic convinces us very much and is an excellent starting point for giving a concrete turning point to the planning of efficient and productive modern mobility. We will present it, together with Massimo Taiti, on Monday at 11am in our headquarters in Piazza San Francesco”.
