On Saturday the rossoblù will be on stage on the New Rimini diamond for the second round of Group C of the Serie A baseball game. Game one will be played at 3pm, game two in the evening at 8pm.
The team coached by coach Soto Diaz is back from a good home debut against the New Black Panthers of Ronchi dei Legionari. A double victory which confirmed the good things seen throughout the entire pre-season and allowed us to collect the first precious points of the season. The Polesans are currently the only ones in the group with full points, but it is too early to have a realistic vision of the forces on the field and understand who will have the best chance of competing for first place which is worth access to the scudetto phase.
Last weekend New Rimini shared the stakes with Farma Crocetta. Newly promoted to the top flight, the Romagna players are a roster waiting to be discovered: over the winter it was strengthened thanks to the arrival of two foreign pitchers and other highly experienced players such as Pulzetti and Baccelli, formerly of Rovigo. For Itas Mutua it will be fundamental to repeat the good performance on the mound against Ronchi dei Legionari; a double challenge which allowed us to already glimpse the good qualities of the young Marelli and the Cuban Riesgo Lopez, who have recently entered the rossoblù rotations.
The time has come to get serious also for the girls of the A2 softball series. The championship begins on Sunday with a fascinating home match but also full of pitfalls. In fact, Supramonte, a Sardinian team newly promoted in the category, arrives in Rovigo. There are few elements available to the rossoblù technical staff to decipher an opponent who, thanks to the very long away match, will be very difficult to face especially in the double return match.
In the meantime, as was the case for their colleagues in Serie A baseball, the imperative for the “Girls” is to exploit the field factor to start the season on the right foot by winning the first points to immediately get closer to the playoff objective . Game one will be played at 10am. Polesane and Sardinia are included in Group B of Serie A2, together with Collecchio, Crocetta, Nettuno and Nuove Pantere Lucca.
