“Abruzzo is the region that unites the North and the South in the center and mends this fracture”. This was stated by the president of the Abruzzo Region, Marco Marsilio, in his speech at the Fratelli d’Italia programmatic conference underway in Pescara. “The real difference that exists today between the North and South of the country – adds the governor – is the infrastructure, because it is not acceptable that there are places in Italy where 300 kilometers of train travel in an hour and other places where three and a half hours are not enough to cover 200. This is the real distance that needs to be bridged and put back together. Put us in the same conditions and the South has nothing to envy anyone. National unity and the value of the homeland are substantiated by implementing these reforms and creating the conditions that allow all Italians to feel like first-class citizens and to have all the same rights.” Marsilio also remembers his first victory in Abruzzo, in 2019, when “it seemed like an impossible mission” to restart an area in difficulty which however has “extraordinary potential. I am committed to ensuring that Abruzzo starts moving again – underlines the president – and returns to being central in national politics, and is competitive with the other regions with which it competes. We are achieving this objective, not only because today this programmatic conference here makes Abruzzo and Pescara in particular the center of Italian and European politics”.
